Bella makes a friend is the first book in the series of The Little Black Cat books.
We follow Bella as she ventures out after a storm. She was worried that her mother was late coming home and set out to find her. On her way she encounters a bully, a big mean cat who wont let Bella take shelter in his park. Soon after running off from the mean spirited cat she runs into another cat, Dusty. Dusty is kind and gentle and soon becomes her friend and companion helping Bella to find her way home. On the way, teaching her important lessons.
Bella and the Bully
Bella and the Bully is the second book in the series of The Little Black Cat books.
We follow Bella and her new friend Dusty as they are confronted by a bully. Benson is the meanest cat they know, who doesn't want to share his park. Benson is only interested in fighting. Dusty helps Bella to understand why Benson is so mean and teaches her why it isn't a good idea to fight with others. As they leave the park Bella tells Dusty that she wants to be just like him, kind and nice. Bella even wants to make Benson her new friend!
Bella visits the Doctor
Bella visits the Doctor is the third book in the series of The Little Black Cat books.
We follow Bella as she heads off to the doctors. Bella had never been to visit the doctor before and she soon heard about the dreaded needle! Bella is terribly scared. There is nothing her mother or best friend Dusty can do to reassure her. Off to the vet Bella goes where she encounters other animals all waiting to see the doctor. Bella soon learns a lesson on bravery and how things aren't always as bad as they seem!
Bella meets the Neighbour
Bella meets the Neighbour is the fourth book in the series of The Little Black Cat books.
We follow Bella and her best friend Dusty as they introduce themselves to the new neighbour Rufus, who happens to be a dog! Bella is scared as he looks nothing like her other cat friends and he is so much bigger than her. Soon they realize they have a lot in common and become the best of friends, teaching Bella that she shouldn't judge Rufus on what he looks like nor judge him for being a dog instead of a cat like her and her other friends!
Bella and the Blue Bird
Bella and the Blue Bird is the fifth book in the series of The Little Black Cat books.
We follow Bella and her friends Dusty the cat and Rufus the dog as they come across the bully Benson standing over an injured bird. The friends chase the bully away but soon learn that he was trying to help the injured blue bird. Bella, with the help of her friends, including her new friend Benson, then go on an adventure to find the blue birds home. Bella learns that their families are all very different, some have just a mother, some just a father and some both parents and grandparents. Bella soon learns about acceptance, kindness, differences and teamwork.
Bella says Goodbye
Bella says Goodbye is the sixth book in the series of The Little Black Cat books.
We follow Bella as she learns to deal with her best friend Dusty not being able to play anymore. Dusty tries to explain to Bella that they will soon have to say Goodbye. Bella had never felt such sadness before and she doesn't think she should be happy when she is missing Dusty so much. Bella learns from her friends and a little butterfly who had come to help that it is okay to feel sad, it is also okay to remember all of the fun times they had too! It is a very hard lesson to learn as Bella deals with her grief.
